Initial Boundaries
The initial boundaries are the yellow shaded areas of the map. Each square represents a quarter / quarter section of the Lawrence County Abstract. Alabama Law specifies that in order for a community to incorporate as a Municipality, atleast 4 registered voters must reside within each quarter / quarter section of the proposed town limits. The current proposed limits include only adjoining quarter /quarter sections which had atleast 4 registered voters who signed the petition to support the incorporation of Caddo.
Unshaded areas, either did not have enough registered voters per quarter / quarter section, or did not have enough registered voters who supported the plan to incorporate.
After incorporation, residents of surrounding areas could request annexation by the town of Caddo if they so desired.
